Angela Adams: LULU / RED MAILBAG Giveaway

Lately, we feel like Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy rolled into one. Except we really do exist. And though we're not affiliated with any religious holidays or gap-toothed smiles, we give as good as we get.

Today is day one of the MaineMaven.com Angela Adams giveaway contest. Over the next eight business days, we'll be hiding orange words (like Easter eggs) throughout the site. Like the Tooth Fairy, we're going to make you do a little work — one letter in those orange words will be capitalized, and you'll need to unscramble the word that those letters form (you have to lose a tooth to get a little moola under your pillow, right?). But the reward, this gorgeous red Angela Adams mailbag in the Lulu pattern, an $85 value, makes it worth it (ho, ho, ho).

How the contest works:
Every weekday (Monday through Friday) at 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, we will hide a word in orange in a random blog post. Each orange word will contain a single capital letter, which is the letter to be used in the word scramble. (Example: if you find the word fReak, you would use the letter R in the word scramble. If the words are fReak, reaD and darE, the unscrambled word would be "RED." For the record, none of the words in this example counts in the contest).

For this particular contest, there are eight letters in the scrambled word, which means the last word will be released at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18. The first person who e-mails the correctly unscrambled word to kristen@mainemaven.com wins. We'll provide clues to where the words are hidden — along with reminders that a new word has been released — on Facebook (www.facebook.com/mainemaven) and Twitter (www.twitter.com/mainemaven).

Missed a day? Do you have a tendency to procrastinate? No worries. The words in orange will remain hidden in the blog posts until someone wins the contest.

So all you have to do is:
1. Find the hidden words.
2. Be the first to e-mail the list of eight words and the correctly unscrambled word to kristen@mainemaven.com.

Easy peasy. And so cute. Good luck!

Can we send in our guesses before all 8 letters are "released"?

Hi, Diana, you need to send the list of hidden words along with the unscrambled word, so you'll need to wait until all eight letters (and the words they're in) are released. Good luck, and thanks for asking!

Oh, yes, that would be rule 2, wouldn't it? That's what I get for jumping ahead ;)
