Foodie Fiesta

Step away from the table, put your fork down and nobody gets hurt.

Why? Because you're going to want to save room — a lot of room — for Maine Restaurant Week, which runs from Sunday, March 1 to Tuesday, March 10 (OK, so it's more than a week, but we're not going to split hairs).

Modeled after New York's successful restaurant weeks, this event serves as a way for local restaurateurs to attract new customers and a way for foodies to sample Maine's phenomenal cuisine at a discount. Dining establishments statewide will offer three-course meals at three price points: $20.99, $30.99 and $40.99. And the list of participants is impressive, including some of our favorites: Local 188, Fore Street and Blue Spoon in Portland; Cleonice in Ellsworth; and Thistle's in Bangor, to name a few. A full list is available here.

We recommend that you make reservations early — and stop eating. Now.
