Thanks to Pinecone + Chickadee, the Portland-based silkscreening studio of Amy Teh and her hubby, Noah DeFilippis, you can have your owl — and wear it, too. This original design is screenprinted with water-based inks on an American Apparel T-shirt (so order a size bigger than usual, kids).
Teh and DeFilippis moved here from Brooklyn after the birth of their son, and New York's loss is Maine's gain. Their work has a distinctive, whimsical look (how cute are those T-shirts?) Portlanders may recognize their graphic design work from Buy Local posters or from one of the many retailers they supply.
So go ahead, wear your art on your sleeve — and have fun. It's a real hoot.
