Tu Casa

If you can get past the fact that it feels like you're eating in someone's living room, Tu Casa is the way to go for authentic Salvadoran food. Tuck into a Pupusa, share a plate of fried plantains and feast on a plate of enchiladas. Then prepare to be shocked when the bill arrives — the last time we were there, three of us ate for under $20. With appetizers. And drinks.

My FAVORITE place to eat. Probably because it's a block from mi casa and I don't need more than a 5-spot to have a full meal. Summertime is great on the porch, but in the winter you can dine under the glowing lights of Telemundo, usually interesting if not also entertaining!
