Slates

This bistro in Hallowell, which burned in a 2007 and recently rose from the ashes bigger and better than ever, is the restaurant in Maine we visit most frequently. Though Slates offers a lovely, somewhat overwhelming selection of foods, we can't seem to get past brunch. Why? It's a wonderful place to linger over pomegranate mimosas and smoked shrimp Benedict.
