To-Do List

The sun is out (here, anyway) and so are we. The Maven's family is in town, which can only mean one thing: a whirlwind. So, we'll be cleaning house, continuing the bridal festivities, barbecuing large slabs of beef and drinking copious amounts of beer this weekend. This list is for the rest of you. Get out! Enjoy! And if you feel like having a Shipyard, do stop by.

Stalk ME
You keep "accidentally" running into this hot guy at the coffee shop. He always stands in front of you in line, and while every other dude in the place orders some froufrou mocha drink, he takes his black. You're intrigued, but you're not sure how to approach him. Our suggestion? Strong Arm him with one of these fabulous letterpress cards from Strong Arm Bindery in Portland. And if he doesn't get it, well, he doesn't get it.
Where: Whatever dark corners you lurk in.
When: Whenever you work up the nerve.

Watch ME
We first saw The Early Evening show, well, early on. But this unscripted comedy act by Michael Miclon and Jason Tardy has just gotten better. They've performed nationally — um, like, at the White House — and internationally. And thought they're based at the Oddfellow Theater in Buckfield, they're taking their show on the road to Waldoboro tonight.
Where: The Waldo Theatre, 916 Main St., Waldoboro
When: 7 p.m. Saturday, June 13

Walk the world with ME
The Bayside World Market and Fair in Portland is a global extravaganza of dancing, performance, food and vendors. You can travel the world in an afternoon — and leave your passport at home. Photo by Vesselin Cuparic.
When: 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. Saturday, June 13
Where: Portland High School

Drink ME
The Maven worked in Kennebunkport for many summers, which means she spent many nights at Federal Jack's. But we had sort of forgotten how good Shipyard Export is until last night, when some friends offered us one at an impromptu party. We savored every sip, and when it was gone, we declined a Dogfish. No need to sully that flavor.
Where: Deck, patio, back yard, horseshoe pit, local watering hole.
When: After noon, kids. Let's keep it classy.

Eat ME
Dad hasn't stopped talking about Red Sky since he read the review in Down East, but every foodie and their brother raves about the place. We're not quite as rapturous about beet risotto, but any place that has Shotgun Wedding (their take on Italian Wedding soup) and the pictured Lobster Polenta on the menu has to be good. If you're there this weekend and see Dad, say hi. We'll be continuing the bridal festivities in Bangor.
Where: 14 Clark Point Road, Southwest Harbor
When: 5:30-9 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday (hours change in the summer).
