You're either going to look like an ingrate or a cheapskate come Sunday. But there's still time to redeem yourself, thanks to DennyMike's barbecue sauces.
DennyMike (that would be Dennis Michael Sherman of York) is a Maine boy who discovered Texas-style barbecue more than 30 years ago, while an exchange student in Mexico. He had a good buddy whose family lived in Texas, and while visiting, he fell in love with the dry-rub style of barbecue. In the time that has passed, he has perfected his recipes — and launched his own line, DennyMike's 'Cue Stuff. Two of his rubs took top honors at the recent National Barbecue Association’s conference and competition, and two of his sauces came in fourth — not bad for someone this far north of the Mason-Dixon line.
With offerings such as the Chick Magnet chicken rub and the smoky Mesquit-O Madness sauce, it'll be hard not to order something for yourself, but stop being selfish and spring for a gift pack. Dad deserves it. And besides, he'll be so excited, he might just fire up the grill for you.
