Hold Everything

OK, it's Friday. And the last thing you want to think about is work. But we have a little something that will make your day easier — not to mention more attractive.

If we had to wear a badge to work (which, thank God, we don't), we would attach it to one of these badge holders by Portland, Maine-based artisan Lisa Bess.  It's also good for helping you find your glasses when they're not on your face. And although the pictured designs are fairly girly, Lisa also makes more manly man I.D. holders.

Bess has long been known for her eclectic jewelry designs made of recycled and found objects. The Maven discovered her work long ago, when her former editor and dear friend gave her one of Lisa's bracelets, crafted from plumbing O-rings. Very hip. Today, The Maven owns a whole collection of Lisa's "Adornments," including earrings made from vintage glasss buttons, a pendant made from a bottlecap and several other fun, sparkly pieces. The best part is, her work is affordable and adorable.

Though we hit her booth every time we see her at a craft fair, there's always a line, and the people in it are usually waiting for these badge holders. Fortunately, you don't have to wait. Click here to see her full selection, and while you're at it, you should poke around her Web site to view her other fun designs.

You didn't have anything better to do on a Friday at work anyway, right?
