The reason behind our hours is simple: We have a six-month-old son, who is our No. 1 priority, and have not yet found an ideal childcare situation. Kristen works full-time at the University of Maine and pops in after work and on weekends. Jason runs the day-to-day operations of the shop, places and picks up orders, meets with vendors, keeps track of inventory and balances our checkbook, all while trying to entertain, feed and placate our baby boy. Some days this works. Other days, not so much.
