Maine To-Do List: 12.4.09

We're all about gifts this month, and our weekend to-do list is, too. Here are our picks for some of the best shopping-related events in Maine over the next three days. And even the edibles and drinkables are giftable.

Eat ME
You've waited all year for this. And we're not talking presents. We're talking Chex Mix. It only shows up at the holidays and you can't stop stuffing your face with it. But it doesn't have to be this way. It's a holiday every day at Megunticook Market in Camden, where Lani Temple and her crew make batches of the addicting mix every day. They also make to-die-for pies, and their meat market is fabulous, but right now, we're all about the Chex.
Where: 2 Gould St., Camden
When: Now

Drink ME
We haven't tried it yet, but here's the buzz: Twenty2 vodka, a smooth, super-premium liquor micro-distilled in Houlton, has cocktail lovers in high spirits. Try it neat or mixed in your favorite drink. It's just the thing for holiday gatherings.
Where: All licensed Maine liquor stores
When: After 5, kids
Web: Check 'em out on Facebook

Shop Local with ME
Who doesn't love shopping in Portland's East End? Between Angela Adams, Ember Grove and Ferdinand alone, we could do some serious damage. This weekend's holiday stroll will allow shoppers to discover some destinations they might not know about, while spreading the holiday cheer.
Where: Portland's East End
When: Saturday

Get Artsy with ME
For us, there is no better gift than art, and Roots & Tendrils in Belfast is keeping it young and interesting with its 30/30/30 sale. This hip little shop/arts space will feature 30 works by 30 artists under the age of 30. So go out and support an emerging artist.
Where: 2 Cross St., Belfast
When: Dec. 4-Jan. 30
Web: www.rootsandtendrils.com

Get Crafty with ME
There are craft fairs and then there are craft fairs. And then there's the SEA Holiday Sale at Portland's East End Community School. The best way to describe this is a craft fair for hipsters, but even that doesn't quite do it justice. Just go. And prepare to see some really, really cool things.
Where: East End Community School, 195 North St., Portland
When: 6-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4; 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5
