Members of the Etsy Maine Team — who create handcrafted items and sell them on Etsy.com — have given that message a twist. They're giving their heart through their hands and crowning it with philanthropy. Through Nov. 19, 55 sellers will donate 15 percent of their sales to Preble Street. The Portland-based nonprofit works to create solutions to homelessness, hunger and poverty.
The lineup includes jewelry, fiber art, folk art, paper goods, paintings, prints and vintage goodies. To peruse the list of featured sellers or for more information, click here. Chances are, you'll discover a few that are new to you. Case in point: this gorgeous hammered-silver ring from Lofted Designs of York.
What better way to get a jump on your holiday shopping, support local businesses and help a good cause? And though you may not be giving a Claddagh, the message is still as strong.
