To-Do List 9.25.09

The leaves have just started to change here in Orono. The weather is crisp and clear. There are tons of things to do (including attending the wedding of our friend and colleague Aimee — congrats!). Does a fall weekend in Maine get any better than this? We don't think so. So to heck with the yard work — get out and enjoy yourself. There will be time for sitting around in December.

Eat ME
This may be the last time in a long time that we're able to grill out and actually enjoy it. So, we're going to take advantage with some thick, succulent, bone-in pork chops from Cornerstone Farm in Palmyra.
When: Dinnertime.
Where: Orono Farmers Market or at the farm: 74 Dogtown Road, Palmyra.
Web: http://www.cornerstonefarm.us/

Drink ME
Fun is on tap at the Maine Lakes Brew Fest, with nearly 30 breweries from Maine and beyond.
When: 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26
Where: Point Sebago resort, Casco
Web: Maine Lakes Brew Fest

Go to the fair with ME
The Common Ground Fair begins today and runs through Sunday with livestock, cool vendors, delicious food and an earth-lovin', eco-friendly vibe. Aside from the traffic, what's not to love?
When: Friday-Sunday
Where: MOFGA's Common Ground, Unity
Web: Common Ground Fair

Bite ME
After all that rain we had, this year's Maine apple crop is shaping up to be great. Apple festivals in Cornish, the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village in New Gloucester and Livermore Falls will celebrate the harvest this weekend.
When: Saturday
Where: Thompson Park, Cornish; Shaker Village, New Gloucester; Rec Field, Livermore Falls.
Web: Cornish, New Gloucester n/a, Livermore Falls
