In honor of wedding week, we'd like to give a shout-out to a few of the wedding photographers we admire. At our own wedding, we didn't hire a photographer because so many of our friends are artists and journalists. But if we did, this would be our short list:
Michele Stapleton, a former colleague of The Maven's, is known far and wide for her bridal work, and with good reason: she is, in a word, amazing.
Samantha DePoy Warren of Samantha Warren Weddings is an up-and-coming photographer with a photojournalistic style all her own. Lovely.
Mark McCall's photos have an antique feel about them. We're especially fond of his black and white work, but even when he works in color, the quality of light is such that you feel like you're looking at a Vermeer painting. Gorgeous.
Our beautiful friend Yolanda had Felice Boucher shoot her wedding, and we can see why: her photos are sophisticated and, we think, a touch glamorous.
