OMG, no shoes!

Dear Kristie Billings,

We are devastated — and we mean DEVASTATED — to hear that ShoeGazer is closing on June 7. We have loved your shoes, your hair and your amazing sense of style since you first graced Ellsworth with your presence. Yes, we're thrilled that everything is on clearance, but our sadness outweighs any bargain-hunting delight.

We have purchased many of our favorite shoes in your shop. The patent-leather, flower-bedecked Cuban heels. The elastic-laced Palladium flats. The knee-high brown boots. What are we supposed do now? Slog around in Crocs? Hell, no.

We just wanted to thank you. For the memories. And the fashion. And the cojones to bring fashion-forward footwear (and really great knee socks) to eastern Maine. We will miss you terribly. Don't be a stranger. We wish you the best of luck in whatever your next venture may be. We don't know what it is, but we know it will be fabulous.

Because, as you've shown us over the years, you've got soul. And soles.

All of our love,
The Mavens

It will certainly be a sad day when ShoeGazer is no more. What a loss for the area! Guess I'll just have to make my own, 'cause I'll be damned if these feet will ever find themselves in Super Shoes!
I'll see you 'round the town Kristie-
Julia
